Dangerous goods (IMO) import

Very few handle dangerous goods. We have years of experience with it and contact with the scarce licensed warehouses in Chile.

Dangerous goods are classified under the IMO/IMDG Code. Importing them requires specific documentation, correct packaging and labeling, authorized transport and licensed warehouses. One mistake stops the cargo or generates fines. We coordinate it end to end. SICE works with licensed forwarders and customs brokers: it does not carry the cargo or file the clearance.

What we coordinate for you

  • Review of the dangerous goods documentation with your supplier (classification is done by whoever ships the cargo).
  • Ocean or air freight authorized for dangerous goods, with the carriers that accept it.
  • Cargo insurance with a policy that covers this type of goods.
  • Licensed warehouses for dangerous goods. There are very few in Chile, and we have the contact.
